ACWA, Association of State Drinking Water Administrators (ASDWA), EPA, and other state organizations have conducted Summits on the topic of water reuse as part of commitments to support state coordination under the National Water Reuse Action Plan. The Summits are opportunities for state regulators to collaborate and share information about water resilience, security, partnerships, and integrated water resources management with specific focus on water reuse.
In Fall 2019, the inaugural State Regulatory Summit on Water Reuse was conducted in San Diego, CA in partnership with the 2019 WateReuse Symposium conference. This Summit was planned and executed by ACWA and ASDWA with support from EPA. It represents the first formal in-person convening between ACWA and ASDWA Members on the topic of water reuse and resilience.
In Fall 2020, a second Water Reuse Regulator Summit was conducted virtually. This Summit was planned and executed by ACWA and ASDWA along with Association of State and Territorial Health Officials, Environmental Council of the States, and Groundwater Protection Council, with support from EPA and WateReuse Association.
