Released as a final rule effective January 6, 2021 by the US Environmental Protection Agency, Final Rule — Transparency in Significant Regulatory Actions and Influential Scientific Information outlines how EPA will identify and consider pivotal science. When promulgating significant regulatory actions and/or developing and using influential scientific information, EPA will, consistent with this rule, give greater consideration to pivotal science for which the underlying dose-response data are available in a manner sufficient for independent validation.
